Charles Fazzino -
For more than twenty-five years, Charles Fazzino's name has been synonymous with bright, whimsical, and wonderfully detailed three-dimensional pop art. He is best known for the frenetic energy that infuses his work and a unique, hand-assembled 3-D layering technique that brings his images to life. All art comes displayed in museum quality shadowbox frames, custom made to fit 3-D layering. Our shadowbox frames are comprised of 1.5" black matte finish wooden molding (the grain of the wood is not visible), double matting (typically a white outer mat and a black inner mat), backed with white foam core and fitted with plexiglass. Custom framing options are available, though cost is determined upon the style chosen.Fazzinos often come in multiple edition types of the same image. Explanation of the edition breakdowns is as follows (variations may occur):
Regular Edition (#)
- Two layers of dimensionality on white museum board. A Regular (also known as the Number Edition) typically has the largest amount of pieces produced within any edition on a given piece.
Deluxe Edition (DX)
- Three layers of dimensionality on white museum board that is hand-embellished with Swarovski crystals. Typically a Deluxe has a slightly smaller edition size then a Regular on a given piece.
Premiere Edition (PR)
- Three layers of dimensionality on an alternative color museum board (often black) that is hand-embellished with Swarovski crystals. Typically a Premiere has a slightly smaller edition size then a Regular and a Deluxe. Often Premieres come with special features. Signatures, larger sizes, extra embellishments and remarques vary by piece.Other edition types have included Artist Proofs (AP), Artist Editions (AE), Artist Edition Deluxes (AEDX), Artist Proof Deluxes (APDX), Gold Edition (Gold) and Trial Proofs (TP).
limited edition 3D serigraph -
Serigraph refers to the process of making fine art reproductions by having a design imposed on a screen of silk (per color needed), with ink then being forced through each individual screen onto the printing surface. The serigrapher applies each color separately, one screen at a time, in perfect registration. Serigraphs are typically produced on paper, canvas, panels and cels (see sericels).3-D serigraph refers to the process of taking 2 or 3 fine art serigraphs and layering them in such a fashion as if parts of the image appear 3-D.
